I am sick to death of chocolate

I never thought that I would ever utter those words, but it is true…I am sick to death of chocolate. Not sick of eating it, just making it. I am up to my ass in Star Wars chocolate lollipops, you name the character, and I have a rediculously intricate lollipop mold of it.

rn

So far I have made about 110, I have about 40 more to go. There is not a flat surface in my kitchen that isn’t splattered with harded, previously melted chocolate. From Yoda green to Vadar black, it is a mess.

rn

My computer is still possessed, and I am completely over it.  Forgive me if you don’t hear much from me over the next week. Ethan assures me it will be back to normal soon.

rn

Today was Thomas the Tank Engine Live. Logan was beside himself he was so excited. He got to shake Sir ToppumHat’s and Mr Conductor’s hand. Actually Mr. Conductor personally punched Logan’s ticket, he was almost in tears he was so happy. With all the fuss over Jarod’s upcoming birthday, he needed a special day just for him. He looked so cute, he wore his Thomas costume.

rn

The show was in downtown Pittsburgh, about 4 hours after the St Patty’s Parade. Other than dodging the shamrock covered drunks, it was a great time.

rn

I have to brag a bit…. once we got out of the car Jarod pulled out six $1 bills. He told me that he brought them to give to the homeless people that he always sees when we go into the city. I told him that I would have to be the one who actually hands the money to someone…just to be safe. He said that he didn’t care as long as they got it. What a good kid!

rn

The RSVPs from Jarod’s class keep rolling in….should I be concerned that all of the phone calls so far have come from little girls?

rn

He gets to have take a treat into school on Friday for his birthday, and I have arranged with his teacher to have pizza, drinks, and a cake delivered. It will be a fun end to a hard week, this is the one when they do their standardized testing.

rn

So that’s what is happening here, I’m exhausted so it’s off to bed. Hopefully my piece of crap computer will allow me to check in tomorrow. Have a great weekend!

Have I ever told you that you are a super great mom and that you have super great kids?  I haven’t??  Well, you’re a super great mom and you have super great kids!!!

It’s a good thing you’re a stay-at-home mom.  No way could you EVER get all that stuff done that you do if you had a full time job outside the home.

Bravo, Girlfriend.  In case you can’t see it, you’re getting a standing ovation from me.  Mom’s like you are the only thing that’s gonna save this world.

Okay…All I really want to know, is do you EVER get out of the kitchen…Really???

Are all these blogs really a thinly veiled cry for help??? Is Ethan and your boys keeping you prisoner? Should I alert the authorities??

Seriously…Will you come make some candy for me???

One of my greatest childhood memories comes from my friend Cherrish…Her mom used to make homemade Easter candy every year…I remember going to her house and watching it…I felt like Charlie and the Chocolate factory! I had NO IDEA taht mom’s did that kind of stuff!! LOL…Seriously!

I have always wanted to try to make my own chocolate, but never have…Perhaps I will someday…

    Have a great week girl!

I agree with Mary……could you please give me lessons on being a Super Mom?!?!?!  I sooooo would love to be the kind of mother you are to your children.  They have such awesome memories.  All the stuff you do is all the stuff kids remember really.  My brother and I talk about that all the time.  We can’t remember any gift we got from them on Christmast or any of the material stuff but we remember them embarassing (not really) us at baseball games, orchestra recitals, graduations (elementary through grad school), helping with homework….all the stuff that has NOTHING to do with money and everything to do with TIME.  He and I were truly blessed to have such great parents, like your children…..

Save those molds, they may be collectors items in later years.  Have a great day!

Hello there Super Mom! How else do you get Super Kids! Wow, what Jarod did is amazing!

Hope you got all your chocolate cleaned up! I could never work with all that chocolate and at least not nibble.

    Have a great day!

What a good hearted kid! My DS does that to, except I’ve had to explain to him, that if we gave money to all the homeless people here in Los Angeles, we would become homeless ourselves! This is true.  We have a HUGE problem with people living in the streets here.

It is so common in Downtown L.A. that one becomes desensitized.  I know it sounds horrible, but it is so true.

Anyhow, I’m surprised you would have time to blog with all the busy work you have in preparation of Jarod’s b-day!! My goodness woman, where do you find the energy!?

What a great kid. You’re doing something right.
How do you make all that food without eating it?

You know? All I could think about as you described that counter-hardened chocolate was that if my mom ever made chocolate stuff like that, I would have followed her around like a puppy pretty much licking (and probably getting quite sick) every spoon, bowl, cup, and surface. Lady, you are like the Martha Stewart of motherhood. I wanna be just like you when I grow up!
